It's probably your IWE actuator. This is the part that connects the wheel hub to the CV shaft when you use 4wd. To rule out/in IWE you can do 1 of 2 things. 1. If you have 4A, leave it in 4A. 2. If you don't have 4A, pull the electrical plug to the solenoid on the drivers side firewall. Both should keep the IWEs engaged. See if the noise reoccurs. If it doesn't, then it has something to do with the IWE system.I have a 2020 f150 with 10k miles on it.
