Hold the pistol normal, and release the slide from slide lock. The release lever is (should) be under tension, and slightly difficult to release. Now hold the pistol and manipulate the slide back every so slightly with one hand. Barely touch the slide release with the other. It should fall right down.

Dec 9, 2022 · I bought the 43X new and had that exact issue. I sent it to Glock, and they said they couldn't duplicate the issue. After I got it back, I thought I was limp wristing, so I kept going to the range. I was mainly using one magazine, sometimes the other mag too. After about 650-700 rounds, the problem disappeared. Glock fixed that w/ a newer, softer connector, and the overly stiff trigger problem on the 42/43 pistols pretty much went away. On top of that, Glocks are, as you know, "Bin" pistols, as in all parts are snap together w/ no hand fitting there-of, and on occasion, you get a Glock out of the box w/ a really cruddy trigger.
