Yes, the gun is "more" P229 than P228, but the whole point is that this is supposed to be "true-er" to the military M11. And that means P228 grips. It's what every picture of the M11 online is wearing. This could be caused by a weak magazine spring or a sticky follower. I have seen several M11-A1 magazines that shipped with very a viscous preservative on the inside of the magazine body. The M11-A1 has a pretty stiff factory mainspring. Maxed out the gage (12lbs) part way through the DA pull. It was pretty ridiculous on mine. 18# spring worked with a DA pull around 10.5 lbs but 17 didn't so I'm going with a 19# just to be on the safe side. I'm running a 19# in my P220 with no troubles so I'm going with that.

From the research I have done, the complaints about the M11-A1 is that it is not an exact replica of the military issue M11, which is a 228.
