I used a red colored one which is dim enough it can't be seen in the day light, but in darkness lights up just enough that you can see the tip of the pointer. The trilux scope you're talking about is called a SUIT, or Sight Unit Infantry Trilux. It was built for FAL rifles, more specifically for the Inch versions (British commonweath) and the Israeli FALs.
