Only slight work around I found is you can edit the player to be just "star" development so they lose their abilities, then exit the editor, go back in and change them back to x-factor superstar. The it will randomly generate their abilities again.

It randomly assigns them the abilities when you up their dev trait however, you don’t get to assign them. I couldn’t figure out a way to edit the actual traits in the roster editor or editing a player in franchise. I may have missed something but that’s what I’ve figured out so far.
